Ms.Latham was a tremendous help when I was applying to college. The process was entirely unknown to me at the time— I am a first generation college student— and having her focus my process was essential to my success. I spent a lot of time in her office talking about the next steps and highlighting schools that mimicked the close knit environment of my high school. Further, her ability to connect me with admissions professionals at Oxy bolstered my confidence that those folks saw me as a person in addition to the transcripts and letters I had submitted. 

The College Fairy was astonishingly patient with our child.  Our child had so many questions and concerns and Ms. Latham would listen to it all.  Plus, our child didn't miss a single deadline, thanks to the system developed by Ms. Latham.

Our daughter graduated during the pandemic and Crys’ ability to navigate the challenges of the college process – especially the uncertainty of that time -- was impressive.  Her care for our student across multiple years as we navigated the vast post-secondary school terrain was unwavering, and while we as parents thought we knew a fair bit about the college application process, the understanding Crys brought to that moment was very helpful in minimizing stress and anxiety and guiding our student to a positive outcome.

Our family had the benefit and pleasure of working with Ms. Latham during the college search process for two of our daughters. One of the things that I appreciated the most was that her process actually started long before senior year.  This advance time was crucial for planning and to enable Ms. Latham to get to know our student and family. This additional prep work ensured that her guidance and recommendations were tailored to the student's needs. Choosing a college isn't a one size fits all, and her process revealed how success was best defined for our students, and helped them achieve it.

Ms. Latham's expertise in college admissions is informed by her time working for both college admissions and at the high school level. Her national leadership roles and involvement with college counselor organizations affords access to current  information and key contacts that benefits her students. Supremely, she has the application process down to a science, making it easy for students and parents to know when and what they should be focused on at any given time.
